If you do go for MGE, probably best to go for badlands spire or gullywash middle, as they've both got good opportunities to practice airshotting a jumping soldier. However I think the gravity and physics in endif are altered slightly, so once you're starting to get the hang of airshots (and more importantly, the confidence to go for an airshot when you get the chance) move it over onto either a normal MGE mode or tr_walkway with the launcher on. It's also an excellent way to practice airstrafing/surfing when your opponent knocks you up in the air. If you're starting from scratch, I would recommend starting there with a friend. There's no need to worry about taking damage, so you can get a decent amount of practice in in one go. I found playing endif on MGE helped me a lot back when I was terrible, simply because you're constantly being forced to 1) get used to launching people in the air, and 2) go for the airshot when you get the chance.
